Nsient has provided structural engineering services for numerous unit developments, from single unit sub-divisions up to staged 77 unit developments. Drawing on years of extensive experience Nsient is able to provide a comprehensive structural design and provide designs using cost effective building methods and materials. Nsient can also provide advice for possible cost saving measures, sometimes slight changes to window locations/sizing or framing can provide direct cost saving benefits to the client without compromising the designer’s intent.

ARCHITECTURAL HOMES

Nsient has had extensive experience with high end Architectural home design and documentation. Design of Architectural homes require close attention to detail as the architect’s vision can rarely be compromised.

Attempting to integrate structure into the architectural layout can sometimes prove difficult as Architect’s readily push the boundaries of design, sometimes requiring very detailed structural analysis of structural elements to ensure we can maintain the structural integrity of the building while not compromising the Architect’s vision.

APARTMENTS

A common problem with apartment building design is a lack of specialist knowledge with elements such as post-tensioned slabs and piled retention systems. Typically they are redesigned by specialist external contractors to reduce construction costs.

Nsient have a team of engineers with varied specialist knowledge, so we can collaborate internally to produce very efficient and economical designs. Our team has a wealth of experience and knowledge in specialist post-tensioned slab design, stability of high-rise structures, multi-level basement retention design, precast and reinforced concrete design, steel, timber and masonry structures. POST-TENSIONED SLAB DESIGN

We are specialists at post-tensioned slab design and regularly design slabs directly for specialist Post-tensioned slab contractors and other engineering consultancies

We model each slab and its post-tensioned reinforcement in 3D to check for clashes and simplify the installation. We also provide detailed post-tension layout shop drawings

On most projects the builder will save money by getting a specialist contractor to redesign the slab and install the post-tensioning (Design and Construct). We find that a more economical solution is to get a specialist to review the slabs prior to tender. This way the saving stays in the pockets of the developer and the builder can price the design on known quantities.
